BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN / Charles Wuorinen

Jack und Ennis lernen sich auf dem Brokeback Mountain kennen. Aus Kameradschaft entwickelt sich bald innige Zuneigung. Anschließend trennen sich ihre Wege. Bei beschließen, nun wieder ein normales Leben zu führen. Sie gründen Familien, bauen Häuser und kommen doch nicht voneinander los. Die Liebesgeschcihte der beiden Cowboys rührte im Jahr 2005 mit dem Oscar preisgekrönten Film "Brokeback Mountain" Millionen Kinobesucher. Nun ist der Filmstoff zur Oper geworden und feierte als Kammerfassung am Salzburger Landestheater die österreichische Erstaufführung.

Ramble to Reims is a contemporary adaptation, sung in Dutch, of the comic opera Il viaggio a Reims by Rossini.

A wellness centre has organized a day trip. The guests will travel to Reims to visit an opera, where the king will be present too. After the opera, they will be treated to an icecream. But the whole excursion is a shambles, tensions mounts and everyone is on their worst behaviour. In this world of foam and hot air, it's sometimes difficult to see what is truly valuable.
